Tribe of the hungarians
On New Year’s Eve, in Moldova region of Romania, the town of Dărmănești becomes a scene for dancing bears. It is an old tradition in which, different tribes of men and women dress up in bear’s skin and fur. There are lots of speculation about the origins of this ritual, but some stories goes back in tribal times when a new leader was chossen by the community based on a dance done in similar bear skin and fur, freshly hunted.
